Dance Review by Theodore Bale Saturday, November 3, 2001
Dawn Kramer and Sean Curran premiered an illusory work titled “Walk In Progress,” which was dominated by Antony Flackett and Sabrina Zanella-Foresi's inventive videography. Curran, in fact, never appeared live during the dance. Kramer does, and after some time the viewer becomes easily confounded when the two partner each other in sequences exploring the physical and symbolic aspects of walking. The highly original dance takes up where Twyla Tharp's "Catherine Wheel” left off, pushing the boundaries of both dance and video art. John Clark's classy double bass improvisations gave the piece a thrilling pace.
